Hello,

We are sorry to answer you so late ! Our web server suffered a major breakdown and, for several days, it was impossible to answer your question. We thank you for your patience !

To do the kind of work you wish you do (i.e. plan cultural or sport events), people usually have training in event planning/management or a related field (see Conference and Event Planners). In Quebec, this kind of training is offered at the John Abbot Cegep. It is a one-year attestation of collegial studies (ACS) in Event Planning and Management. The Institut de tourisme et d'hôtellerie du Québec also offers a one-year attestation of collegical studies in Coordination d'événements et de congrès (French only). Another related program is offered, in English, in Event Planning at Lasalle College. However it has a focus on fashion show events which may not suit your interests. If you are willing to study outside of Quebec (e.g. Ontario), other programs may be available. Visit the OntarioColleges.ca web site to research relevant programs (tips: use ?event? as a search keyword on the main page)

I hope this answers your question.
